it's come down to this - to hold the past to the chest so tightly and revel in its comfort, even the ugly bits that stick out and are sharp and thorny...
or to renounce what no longer works. and is no longer true.
and to embrace the newness within. there is no other way of dealing with the past other than to make the present good and in so doing, in seeing the beauty of the here and now, to learn to see the hidden riches in the past. to look at the past with new eyes.
there comes a time when holding on isn't an option anymore.
i think it's time.
