Love...Part 4

The little girl was upset. Slowly her eyes began to water, and they brimmed over with tears that ran over onto her frock.
So Auntie A came over, and asked her what the matter was.

It's nothing, said the little girl, just that no one has said they loved me this whole day.
No, Mummy did. She asked you not to eat too fast at dinner just now...replied Auntie A.

(this excerpt is paraphrased from an article in CAP newspaper...)

how often are we like that little girl? it's not easy to listen out for love. and it's true very few of us go around professing our love aloud. but take the time to believe that there is love, and that we are in no small measure, beloved of others. sometimes, all it takes is the simple phrase of 'take care'...and the sensitivity to listen to the care and the concern underlying simple actions and words...the ability to look past all that crap and go straight to what matters most.

of this i am perfectly sure. it is a fundamental human need to be loved and to love in return. not one of us can live through this life without it. and what are we called to do, but to learn to love our fellow man the best we can?

...maudlin night...or morning, if you like...
