clenched fists

my grandma told me once that all babies are born with their fists clenched…and that this symbolises their struggle to grasp anything and everything in this world. the clenched fists at birth marks the beginning of a quest for more, more and more. sometimes this quest can blind a person to all other things in life that matter, and becomes the sole object to be sought.whether true happiness and satisfaction is to be found on this quest is a very subjective question, one whose answer differs from person to person.

and when death comes, rigor mortis sets in. the fists relax, leaving an open palm. the struggle to grasp has come to an end…a fitting reminder to the inevitability of life ending and in a sense, the futility of such striving.

joy, happiness, euphoria…could they match the contentment of a person who has learned their limits and yet fulfilled their potential? who has learned to smile even when things do not go their way, knowing that this is all part of a greater divine plan?

Hey girl, I've heard this story from you before :)

I was about to reply what's the point in life if you do not strive for things, especially when you know that opportunities won't be presented to you on a platter?

Then I saw your last paragraph. Yeah, it's so easy to get frustrated and upset when things don't go as planned, but hey, gotta make the best out of what you have, eh? ;)

Cheers girl, sounds like you're enjoying your holiday A LOT MORE than me! XD Blessing in disguise, blessing in disguise, my work now is giving me experience and something to put in my resume ^_^;;
