resolutions - from 2008 to 2009

to the readers of this quiet and fairly personal blog, Happy New Year.

i re-read wishes and hopes for 2008 ...

interesting to see how much ground i have (gained) or lost.

well, on a good note, i have indeed lost (oh no pun intended) some weight and am hoping to one day reach my target weight. suffice to say that healthier eating choices and more mindful eating as well as a conscious effort to ramp up my physical movements have helped a lot.
i still enjoy good food, but in smaller quantities. and i still think pecking away at a crumbling (because it is so damned small) piece of cheesecake is NOT the way to go.

as for writing more poetry and prose poems, i have started a new blog, http://petrina7poems.blogspot.com for my poetry and prose poems and it has become a place where i write to my heart's content and share it with the rest of the world.

i did vote at the last GE (and so did the rest of my family including my 86 year old granny who had to be carried down the hill where the voting station was). however, as things have turned out, politicians are the same everywhere. the only important thing is getting the Malaysian people to realise change is possible. and it's in our hands.

more manga? online version - buying is expensive. and anime? Midori Days was pretty good. haven't really caught up with any since i started work after being called to the bar.

as to the first and the last item on my list last year - i am working on the first, and so far life has revealed to me things about my self and my abilities and limitations.
a journey, a dream, a destination.
to the last, i have always remembered, and will do. to the end. that is the extent of how much it meant to me.
stay safe, stay strong, you opened my eyes, i only wish my heart could stay open.

...

my wishes for this year - :)
p and c. seriously. ;)

maybe just one - that i make 2009 a better year than 2008, which wasn't fabulous. to say the least.

Hey Petrina, of course I remember this Librarian at SMC. Hehe. It has sure been a while, I did stumble upon your website a few years ago and lost track and now that you dropped me a note, I'm here! Wow, lawyer-to-be. You've always had that knack for writing, poetry and all that. Proud of u. Hope 2009 will be a blessed year ahead for you. Looking fabulous... xoxo
