to be taken seriously ...

it is a human need to be taken seriously, acknowledged and appreciated ... to be listened to and for someone to be there for them ... for who they are inside, not necessarily the face they show to the world. and for compassion to be shown in times of weakness, because we are all lacking in some way or other, and we back each other up.

i used to think so. ever since i was in school. i still do, in fact.

yet it would appear that some people do not have this need, and as a result, do not appreciate being taken seriously. i know that now.

in spite of my struggles, i take a deep breath and i pause to say : i've had enough. and i am needed elsewhere.

p/s i still love all of you, don't worry. :) but for the moment, until i have thought it through very thoroughly and decided my next step...there are certain people i would rather avoid.

suddenly it occurs to me that looking at my p/s-es all this while, one might think i m a Barney ... you love me i love you we are a happy family
but believe me, i am flesh and blood and bone. i am happy, sad, angry, moody, reflective, thoughtful, excitable ... i am not a purple happy dinosaur.
and not an emo freak either.
a journeywoman on her way. that's who i am.

There are exceptions to every rule, I suppose.

In statute form:

7. All persons are to be taken seriously.

Provided their utterances do not exhibit a pattern which, to the mind of the listener, is inappropriate to be taken seriously.
