Love...part 3

her eyes were rapt,
they shone, glimmered
in the moonlight
she sat, still and silent and listening
listening
to his every word.
and she smiled to herself.
delightful to see
and time had only
made keener
her feelings for him...
they tempered passions,
and created possibilities...
she was a happy woman.

they ask what do lovers talk about...?
when all the words in the world
have run out,
and humans reduced to a dumb society
of wildly gesticulating, ever expressing beings...
lovers will still speak
to each other
in looks, in gazes,
in a silence that stretches beyond the spoken word
a silence of communion
a silence of togetherness.

*this is dedicated to two very special people...God bless both of you, and may you have as much happiness as you can have in the future. don't forget that i love you too...:)

I have to say this again: so sweet. And no, I'm not being sarcastic. :) *wanders off to hum 'Someday My Prince Will Come' in sappiest voice imaginable*

Pet, your poem was so beautiful! you described the love of a lover better than a lover herself. bravo, and encore, please.
