And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
even mountains wear down, time does not stop its grinding, its wearing away at the towering forms that touch the sky, and even the earth changes its form and shape as water, drop by drop, sometimes in the waves that beat against the sand and sheer, stony cliffs, reshapes the landscape as we know it...time never stops. it never ends.
but when the day comes, when the mountains are level and the seashore a distant memory, buried under masses of brown, rich earth...love will still endure. the love that is always accompanied by faith and hope...the love that is there, wordless and still, but warm, life-giving, life-affirming in its touch, filled with faith- the faith in another, the faith in a Maker who made all of the earth, all of its people and creatures, a Maker who loved beyond earthly comprehension...and hope, hope that reaches out, more than bright and brilliant visions, calm, measured, a steady flame that is alight in the deepest, darkest watches of the night, that keeps its upright form in the vigil towards morning, when the sun rises again...
faith, hope and love keep pace with time, they never do end.
