today i want to share some memorable introductory lines from the people around me and my
initial response (or what i was thinking)...have fun guessing and wondering who they are. :)
'i always see your name up on the noticeboard'.
er. that one freaked me out. i was like 'huh, yakah?' dunno bout that. and the person was
smiling and said no more after that.
'did you know that your sex life is regulated by hormones? well, one of the hormones
contains lipids. and lipids,as you know, are fats...therefore, fat people are more horny!'
hahaha. to a total stranger that was me. in retrospect, i should have punched him then. not
that it would stop him, but it would have felt good.
'are you a Malay?'
hahaha. no. simple answer.
'are you going to sue me?'(after being told that i am a law student)
simple answer. no. i don't even know you. but annoy me enough and maybe, i just might!
the person then asked me if i have a list of people to sue ... the truth is i don't. i have
better things to do. and it's expensive, and a lot of trouble.
...speaking of which, i have heard my name being mangled so many times, i cringe everytime...
i like my name 'petrina' and that's what i have been called by both family and friends right all through primary school. until secondary school when i started being called 'pet', and
this has lasted until today. i've encountered some pretty horrible variants and nicknames:
petronas (right until second year of uni! someone i know hollered it out along the corridor.
goodness!)
preetina
piring petri
peterina
pestana (some awful misspelling i saw once)
pitina
battery
peter anthony (this one is still ok since it's the male version of my name)
gosh. i hope i have not given anyone any ideas. :P
