hello friends!
just a bit of housekeeping, i've updated my links to put in some new blogs, namely
Tina
Ivan
Raphael
Tina's blog is highly recommended reading - engaging, honest and funny writing along with some pictures (not too many though!) and definitely worth your time.
Ivan's blog is as honest as Tina's, and every bit as funny as long as you don't mind the profanity. and the er, sometimes quite graphic descriptions. note the blog name, though. :P
Raphael's writing is good in a different way from Ivan's and Tina's - thought provoking, with interesting alternative points of view. and bits of SIM (to see what that's all about, check it out)
[i was interrupted by a cockroach which i unfortunately failed to despatch to nirvana. i hate cockroaches and i am NOT SCARED of them, i just want to kill them. nevermind, i always get them in the end. preferred weapon of choice: flyswatter, alternatively newspaper or scrap paper]
on a cheerier note, HAPPY DEEPA-RAYA TO ALL! over here in ipoh (where i have returned on study break before i go back to the grind and the horror known as exams), as with years before, there's murukku and soon to come - lemang...and my dad's homecooked chicken rendang. yummy! :)
last year, my bro in law was introduced to murukku as over in sarawak, deepavali is not celebrated on such a grand scale. it's always nice to get someone new to join in the fun here. speaking of which i must try 'tuak' one of these days, and visit kuching, preferably during gawai.
looking at my maternal grandparents, i always marvel at how long their love has lasted ... it's so sweet to see them holding hands and chatting with each other...so much so that the couple who used to live next door asked my grandparents to be their witnesses for their marriage registration because they wanted to be just like my grandparents...:)
what can i say? love is a mystery. so many songs, stories and poems written about it, yet ultimately it still remains a mystery at the deepest level - the kind that defies words, concepts and can only as Antoine St Exupery put it 'be felt with the heart' ...
one facet of the mystery known as love is the silence, the silence which two lovers feel, no words because sometimes words serve to bridge a gap ... and when there is no gap, what need is there for words?
