constrained by morality

morality, values constrain
they stifle creativity and self-expression
how can i be free to discover myself
and to find happiness
if there are all these barriers
stopping me? i wanna know life, really know it.
i wanna feel and experience,
don't stop me by talking about others' needs,
don't stop me by going on and on about rules and commandments.
in this world, i have only one life and i wanna live it to the full.
morals are a chain, a millstone around my neck.
don't stop me, you got no right to impose
your antiquated, outmoded values on me.

this is inspired by the Devlin-Hart debate on law and morality, not directly relevant, but just a take on the issue...at last look, it's a matter of choice.

to those i know and love best, i accept all of you as you are. love is bigger than any one of us at any given time. love can cover a multitude of wrongs 1 Peter 4:8.

love can open up a heart and change a person, urging on to greater acceptance and understanding. it is compassion that makes allowance for weakness and courage that stands up to make a stand for strength to overcome weakness. i believe, and though i see nothing, i will keep on believing and praying and hoping...i will never stop. for He is ever with me, through stormy and sunshiny weather.

You're online again! Good, good, that's good ;)

Glad to see you're dealing with stuff well. No matter how many clouds there are, the sun always shines through finally. (Unless there's permanent smog. Or fog. Or the sun gets blown up... okay, I had better stop now)

hahaha. yeah, glad to know that some tinkering around with the pc got it working again :)

time, time can heal a lot of things...and while water does seek its own level ultimately, patience is needed to see through the periods of turbulence...still life must go on! (per Robert Frost, echoed in the Beatles' cheerful, rollicking song)

yup, love has many elements attached to it. :)
and that's part of what makes love so beautiful and special.

Corinthians 13:6-7
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Thoughts on today's verse

Always love - pretty tall order and pretty tough stuff. Only God is "always." But then Christians are fueled to a always love through the Holy Spirit! Check out the promised source of "always" love in Romans 5:5.

Prayer:

Sweet and Glorious God on High, I humble myself before you, recognizing your boundless power to love, the incredible need for love in the lives of those around me, and my limited ability to love. Please pour your Holy Spirit into my heart and fill me with the power to love as you do, always. In Jesus' sweet name I pray. Amen.
