Narnia/ Shoes and sandals/ Musings

Hello people...!

today i went out to watch Narnia with my best friend, Moony ...what a wonderful movie, with its sweeping landscapes and stunning battle scenes...but i do feel that more focus could be placed on Aslan's role in the story. needless to say, Tilda Swinton did a bang-up job as the cunning and cold White Witch. what's more important...the movie had heart. it wasn't something soulless that kept rushing along...taking its time to tell a version of the greatest love story ever told...

Moony and i had a nice time trying on different types of sandals and shoes, although my quest for sandals/shoes was somewhat hampered by the fact i have large and broad feet. we laughed at some of the more outrageous ones, marvelled at the amount of strings and straps on some and i was impressed with how cool Moony looked in a pair of black ankle length boots (which she did not buy in the end, unfortunately) we also felt mighty unstable in high heels...
but i DID manage to buy me a pair of black beaded sandals...which are actually comfortable and look quite nice! talk about miracles...:)

it was a nicely satisfying day, the sort you don't want to end...we chatted and giggled over old schooltime memories...a good movie, a spot of shopping and lots of lovely long talk....

when i came back and was listening to a song on the radio...suddenly a thought just hit me...
hate the sin, love the sinner...and it is true, to a point...
but the other side of it is personal responsibility. that we have to be responsible for our actions, at the end of it. a double edged sword.
how do we reconcile this? justice must be tempered by mercy and mercy tempered by discretion...wisdom is called for to make such decisions in life.
