planet jessup...part 2

due to a request from an erstwhile inhabitant of planet jessup... i have decided to devote further coverage to the activities and conditions on planet jessup.

one of the most famous activities besides the perfectly legitimate but shatteringly dull memorial writing and training was playing games. a game that featured prominently was fuji golf with its loud and startling cries of birdie...eagle..2 under par... (try saying that at a normal golf course, you would get plenty of funny looks and maybe one or two rude comments) of course there was wordzap, an occasional round of noah's ark and typer shark with just that little bit of cheating to spice things up. such were the doings of these brain fried inhabitants.

while other planets had nice warm food and the comfort of soft beds...the somewhat masochistic inhabitants here subsisted on cold curly fries, soggy mozza burgers and once spent a night battling the cold of the desolate surface, having struggled with their memorial all night thru. no sleep for these super folk! (but that girl, you remember her, the one with the widened eyes in the horror movie 'the corridor'...she had to sleep. so she did, for a bit, until the screaming woke her up. screeching and screaming never failed to)

there were the remarks, peppered with innuendo and rich with insinuations. one had to take a while to get used to such intricately layered sentences. and to get back to more normal modes of conversation involving words that stood on their own.

and the trips to the bathroom in semi or complete darkness. the female inhabitants did this together, safety in numbers being the very first thought.

hygiene which was normally of paramount importance was suspended in that same historic night described earlier. unwashed, unkempt, unbathed...24 hours and counting. quite an experience...coupled with the rush against the clock and the frantic trip to the neighbouring asteroid of KLRCA. but prayer and a little bit of luck saved the day! hooray to the 4!

excuse the excitement. it would have been unthinkable but in the earlier context and in zany contests involving staying in a ford ranger for days on end to win it.
